The six new books are the Oil Boys Trilogy, comprising “Game Changer”, “The Fire” and “The Eyewitness”, highlighting the problems of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria.

They are the first of their kind in the industry in Nigeria, where Mr. Daniels worked for over ten years.

Regarding the trilogy, Mr. Daniels explains that “The Oil Boys series aims to bridge the knowledge gap of children and young people about the oil and gas industry in Nigeria.”

There is another trilogy, “Mr Roadman 1, 2, 3”, which teaches road safety and respect for the highway code.

“It is also important that children know the risks they face on the roads; and how adults, sometimes their parents, contribute, ”says Daniels.

The four reissues are “The Crusader”, “The Price of Greed”, “The Unresolved Riddle” and “Working Against Nature”.

‘The Crusader’ exposes the danger that corruption poses to youth education, human values and national development.

Jimoh Hassan, the hero of the book, is an anti-corruption activist. He is intelligent, disciplined, loyal, honest and committed in the performance of his duties as class prefect. But his reputation is threatened when a stolen wristwatch is planted on him.

The reissue, ‘The Price of Greed’, is a didactic story that teaches children about the dangers of jealousy, envy, greed and meanness. It highlights fundamental human values, captures aberrations and calls for an attitude of “live and let live” in the face of life.

“The Unsolved Enigma” encourages tolerance, mutual understanding, respect and peaceful coexistence in all communities.

“Working against nature,” highlights the dangers of over-pampering children, especially by mothers. It is a story of hard work in school, victory over parental poverty, hope and rejuvenation for prosperity.

In a preface to the four new books, the late Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Lagos, Duro Ajeyalemi, praised their quality and the author’s effort.

He noted that “the script speaks to each reader in an entirely personal way. The various thematic concerns include marriage, greed, pride, reward, religion, etc. The language is lucid, free, precise and fresh. It gives the real beauty that every reader could relate to without getting bored.

“The author’s easy but firm command of the English language and the individual quality of the prose is vividly revealed in all chapters.

“Particularly striking are the logical flow of ideas and the skillful order of sentences, which translate into a compelling description of the activities and sequences of the narrative plot. “

Professor Ajeyalemi added: “The books are educational because special attention is paid to all the vocabulary. A lot of humor is also involved, and appropriate imagery has been used to capture the flavor of the prosaic worms.

“Finally, the author has made considerable efforts to produce storybooks whose originality is beyond doubt. Books are interesting, distinctive and attractive. These are masterpieces, which echo the conscience of all those concerned with the teenage crisis, indiscipline, corruption, bigotry, nepotism, etc., as the bane of Nigerian society. .
