There are so many fantastic books by Latinx authors, it reminds us a lot of walking down the aisles of a bookstore and picking up a stack of books. We love to support Latinx writers, but isn’t it even better if we can support Latinx authors and booksellers all at once? There are actually a number of Latinx bookstores across the country that are open for both in-person and online shopping. It is also interesting to note that you will find ALL kinds of books in these stores. The next time you’re in the market for a new read, be sure to check out all of these awesome Latinx libraries for all of your libro needs.

Kew & Willow Books – New York

Located in Kew Gardens, New York, Kew & Willow Books celebrated its fourth anniversary in October 2021. The brick and mortar store is beautiful and authentic to the neighborhood, but the store’s inventory is also available online. The store carries books of all genres including children’s books, supports the LGBTQ community, and also hosts special events.

Café Con Libros – New York

Café Con Libros is also located in New York. Describing itself as “Brooklyn’s intersectional feminist independent bookstore and cafe,” this shop is Afro-Latinx-owned and socially conscious. You’ll find just about any book you’re looking for here, and if not, they’ll order it for you. Plus, you can also get your daily cafecito every time you stop by.

Located in the Bronx, where it is the only bookstore currently serving the borough, The Lit, owned by Afro-Latinx. The bar is the meeting place of our dreams. You can simply stop by to discover new reading, relax for a while with a coffee or a glass of wine, attend organized events and support local authors. The bed. Also based in the Bronx, Boogie Down Books is committed to bringing literature to the community. Epilogue Books – North Carolina

Epilogue Books in Chapel Hill, NC is another Latinx bookstore and hybrid cafe. In addition to offering a wide selection of books, it strives to provide a “community experience”, where customers can enjoy a good book, good company and delicious goodies including wine, beer, coffee, churros and more, most of which are locally sourced. .

Duende District Bookstore – Washington DC and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Duende District Bookstore is a pop-up bookstore that operates in Washington DC and Albuquerque, New Mexico. The intention is to explicitly create their pop-ups “for and by people of color”, although, of course, all are welcome. They present the latest in literature for adults and children, as well as books in English and Spanish.

The Drama Book Shop – New York

The Drama Book Shop in New York is an institution in the theater world. Broadway Powerhouse Lin-Manuel Miranda became part-owner of the store in 2020. It is in fact a recipient of the Tony Award Honor for Excellence in the Theater, which is explicitly intended for organizations and individuals who have made contributions to the community. theatrical, but are not eligible for any other Tony Award category.
